This signet is Victorian through and through — coral, holding a steady oxblood even in shade, set in hand-chased repoussé. The work is so even you would swear a machine did it, though none then could. We bought it from a Delft estate, with the original receipt still tucked inside the lid. Pieces like this do not come apart; they were built to be handed on.
