The Consul Collar

An Edwardian pendant necklace, the old-cut diamonds catching the light along one edge and nowhere else. The detail is built up bead by bead, a technique half-lost by the time this was made. It came to us from a Bohemian family, still in the fitted box it was put away in. You can tell it was worn, not kept — the highest thing we can say of a piece.
