A Mid-century sautoir, the citrines bright at arm's length, quiet up close. It is back-carved so the light enters from behind — the maker's quiet trick.
It came to us from an English country house, still in the fitted box it was put away in. It asks very little of whoever wears it next and gives back a great deal.
